Residential Design Lighting

Interior lighting is a cornerstone of our work. Contemporary lighting has options and it gives any home an updated look. Accenting certain areas helps create the feeling you want to convey in that room. Purpose areas like kitchens need bright lighting, and a room for rest and relaxation needs soft lighting. Some rooms may need both. That requires planning. Plus, if your house was built before 1990, chances are you need a service upgrade to your power source. The average American household uses a minimum of twice as much power as 99% of the rest of the world. Not only does having your power service upgrade make your home safer, it will save you thousands of dollars.

Residential Historical Lighting

We feel if you’re going to cast light on something, you should know what you are lighting. The Midwest and Kansas City are rich with great architecture. American Craftsmen, Art Deco, Victorian, and Mid Century Modern are some examples of architectural styles we wire and light in our area. Homeowners who purchase older houses are often the kind of buyer that appreciates quality in decor, so they often have an eye for artistic design. Along with purpose, these are things we value too so they are all important factors when creating a lighting scheme for an older home. Homeowners who are drawn to a certain architectural style will also choose furnishings that reflect their tastes, so you want corresponding lighting that will complement the overall feel.  We can help select fixtures to showcase your style with expert lighting.

Chandelier Installation

Chandelier installation is no joke and takes a great deal of patience and care. Most chandeliers have multiple crystals in varying lengths and heights, so an electrician must be organized before and during installation. SJ electricians wear white cloth gloves so the crystals don’t get smudged, and doing that while balancing on a 14 foot ladder isn’t easy! A chandelier can be an expensive lighting feature, but the effect is dazzling. Like a diamond necklace finishes a woman’s gown, it can dress up any room. Chandeliers draw attention to a room you want to feature in your home and they in style, design and size. Electricians don’t particularly enjoy chandelier work, but we are passionate about creative design, so we don’t mind this type of detail electrical work. Antique chandeliers need extra attention because they are an investment for your home just like a piece of artwork. Chandeliers add interest to a room where you want to showcase ceilings and the result is a beautiful room with breathtaking featured lighting.
